Become a Gas Engineer: MLP + ACS Course in Ilford, Essex
No employer needed. Train at our Ilford centre, build your portfolio and get Gas Safe ready.
Overview
No employer? You can still become a Gas Safe engineer. Our Managed Learning Programme (MLP) plus ACS assessment is the private route for new entrants, costing £6,500. You train at our Ilford centre, build your on-site portfolio, then sit your ACS assessments to apply for Gas Safe registration.
At a glance
The MLP is designed for new entrants: people with no previous gas experience who want to start a career in domestic gas work. It combines practical training in our centre with a portfolio of real work you complete on site alongside a Gas Safe registered engineer.
When your portfolio is signed off, you sit your ACS assessments with us. With ACS in hand, you can join the Gas Safe Register through an employer or as a self-employed engineer.
Why choose the private MLP route
- You don't need an employer or a job to start
- You learn at your own pace around work and family
